How Much Will It Cost?

The cost of your whole project can very vastly, it depends a lot on the spec of the internal and external finishes and whether the whole job is carried out by a contractor, yourself or somewhere in between. Typically build costs can range between £800-1250 per square metre.

Charnwood Timber Frame are a family business whose ethos is on building high quality frames for both self builders and developers alike. Our experiences stems back to erecting timber frame buildings back in the 1980s and we’ve always had a hands on approach. Our experience goes beyond just timber frame manufacturing and erecting, we have developed our own properties and can use this experience to aid others. There are many benefits to using timber frame. Speed of construction is the biggest benefit, quite often a project can be completed 30% faster than a traditional brick and block build. This can result in a faster ROI or reduced costs if renting other accommodation. Additionally, are prices are fixed, giving you the peace of kind that the prices don’t change during the build, often timber frame homes offer better thermal performance than brick and block builds, better insulation values mean lower bills.

What U Value does your Timber Frame Achieve?

Because our service is bespoke, we often use our standard timber frame wall system that is either 0.15 or 0.17 but we are able to achieve anything from 0.11 to 0.19 using various insulating materials.

Is timber frame sustainable?

All our timber is sourced from PEFC or FSC sources and all our timber is from sustainable forests.

Do you do the installation?

Charnwood give you the option to have the erection carried out by ourselves or we can offer our frame on a supply only basis. In most instances clients have us to erect their frame as our teams are used to working with our panels and reading our drawings.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the whole of the UK and have erected frames all over the country. The benefit with off site manufacture means we can delivery our frames to anywhere within the UK.
